Now that Joel has moved out he has a weekend with the kids, at the door of his former house he hesitates before knocking which shows how new this is to him. We see Julia all alone as they drive off. At the apartment Joel does everything he can to make it feel like home but Sydney wants to go home after one night and Victor calls Julia when he has a bad dream. Meanwhile Julia gets support from her siblings, each of them calling to see how she is going, home alone. On the first night Julia goes to Sydney’s bed when she can’t sleep, keeping busy while the kids are gone. In the end Sarah, Dax and Adam come over and they have a party to lift her spirits, all of them spending the night after drinking and dancing, such a supportive family.
While staying with his parents Dax finds out they are in the process of selling the family home, Zeek is clearly still against it but wants to make Camille happy and would much rather loose the house than the love of his life. Great scene with them having dinner while also looking after Max and Nora, then later having S’mores outside in the new fire pit Zeek made earlier. Amber holding Nora as Drew comes over.
Drew is still having dramas with Amy staying with him and not returning to her school or telling her parents, everyone telling Drew he needs to do something. Nice to see Drew talking to Amber about it and in the end Drew driving Amy to her parents.
Kristina and Adam away at a spa weekend, nice fun scene in the spa, Adam taking off his ‘old man’ trunks, holding hands in the mud treatment and the hike, they deserved a break from family and work after what Kristina went through with cancer and the failed Mayoral bid.
Sarah is still having problems working with Hank, Sarah has a casual dinner with Carl which leads to a fight. Hank goes to see Dr Pelican again, who gives him some much needed advice. It was good to see Sarah understanding what is going on in Hanks mind after she loaned him the Aspergers book. Sarah needs to sort out her feelings for the 2 men in her life.
