My Thoughts

I liked the episode a lot, no real dull moments and a welcome return for the new year.

Zeek has issues with his mother but it was nice they talked in the end, kinda funny how that happens on the show, ditto Max with Kristina. Haddie with Adam and Drew with Sarah.

Poor Drew, no child should have to see that. But given the size of guest room and how close the bed is too the door I have to wonder how much he really saw. Maybe Mark and Sarah were in the bathroom and he imagined far worse than he actually saw? It was a shame we didn't see his POV to judge for our selves. It was nice that he told Amber and then in turn she told Sarah, how covered her face in horror of the moment, when told the news. It was cute how they shook hands as hug was too soon. I did however notice them close together in the last scene with the family at the look out.

Good on Kristina putting her foot down and sticking to her guns after what Drew called her. And Adam backing her, yes Zeek its not the 50s anymore. I think Max learnt his lesson even if in the end she caved and he got a free plane ride out of it. I do like that he cleaned his room and made dinner for them. I was wondering if they took the taxi to get there, plane makes more sense.

Other things, anyone else notice how tall Max is now. It's really apparent in that last scene next to Sarah (Haddie) and the much shorter Mae. How old is he on the show? Dax riding with Julia/Joel and annoying them with the singing. Haddie and Adam talking about her leaving for college, but I'm sure Haddie will be going to a college not far from home when it happens. And the chair going missing, I mean how many eyes were at the table and they didn't see a thing! Different if a van pulled up and blocked the view but that was not mentioned.

Also I'm not sure what to think of Grandma Blanch yet, seamed nice but a big critical of Zeek and the family. Having once told Zeek she doesn't Sarah approve of her. The rest of the family deciding to turn around and go home when Zeek left them, but in the end turning back and arriving just after Kristina got there. Well this is TV.

I can't end this with out mentioning the family gathering as they prepare to set off, Joel helping Zeek strapping down the chair. Joel asking about the cell phones and "paper GPS". Dax -forgot his flat jacket! and Sarah "No Sir! No Sir!" and laughing. It must have been a fun few days shooting the road trip scenes.
