GILMORE GIRLS "Santa's Secret Stuff" January 23, 2007
LORELAI MAKES CHRISTMAS WAIT FOR RORY'S RETURN -- Rather than celebrating Christmas while Rory (Alexis Bledel) is in London over the holidays, Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Christopher (David Sutcliffe) decide to put their holidays on hold. Once Rory returns to Stars Hollow, they decorate several Christmas trees, do their shopping and even bake Christmas cookies for the first time as a family. Turning up unexpectedly at the inn, Luke (Scott Patterson) asks Lorelai to write a character recommendation letter for his custody battle over April (Vanessa Marano). Lorelai struggles to write the letter until she and Rory run into Luke and April at the mall and Lorelai suddenly remembers how important Luke has always been in Rory's life. Inspired, Lorelai writes the letter and mails it to Luke's attorney. Rory decides she will write an apology letter to her friend Lucy (Krysten Ritter), explaining why she and Marty kept their past friendship a secret. - gossipcom@FanForum

TV guide's description
Since a Christmas celebration was postponed while Rory was in London, the festivities begin when she crosses the pond, marking the first time Rory, Lorelai, and Christopher celebrate as a family; Luke asks Lorelai to write a letter of recommendation on his behalf in his custody battle over April; and Rory writes a letter apologizing to Lucy for keeping her relationship with Marty a secret and explaining the reasons why she did. - Katiegg108@FanForum

"Gilmore Girls" (8 p.m., WKBD-TV, Channel 50, CW). Finally, after endless repeats we get a new episode. Rockin' around the Christmas tree in January, cockeyed newlyweds Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Christopher (David Sutcliffe) delayed the holiday hoopla till the New Year, after Rory (Alexis Bledel) returns from London. Hey, pass the eggnog! - withbatedbreath@FanForum

USA Today
"Those crazy kids over at Gilmore Girls (CW, 8 ET/PT) are celebrating a late Christmas, having held the holiday for Rory's return. And speaking of "crazy," don't get too revved up just yet over those hints the network might try to reanimate this corpse for another year. When it comes to TV, a lot of things might happen. That doesn't mean they all will, and most don't." - currienc@FanForum

  • Review - sympatico.msn.ca - "Will Lorelai and Luke ever find peace? After years of struggling, different relationships, marriages and now children, will they finally be together – or will Harry be right in saying men and women just can’t be friends?" - schmier guy@TWoP

  • Review - EW.com - "Hooray, we're back in Stars Hollow! It's funny — the first half of the season rubbed me wrong in so many ways, what with the sagging dialogue and ill-conceived story lines. And yet, and yet! What a relief to hang out with the Girls again, knowing full well that the rest of the world (save you, faithful message boarders) is gnashing their teeth over the embarrassing American Idol auditions." - Mots15@FanForum

  • Review - "When I was out in LA, I ran into a few members of the Gilmore Girls cast at the various network parties. Whenever I brought up the topic of whether there's going to be another season or not, the answer I got didn't seem to vary much. It wasn't definitive by any means, but the general feeling was that, yes, we're probably seeing the last episodes of the long-running show." - tvsquad.com

Gilmore Girls sides (SCRIPT) Santa's Secret Stuff

This is a part of the script called a side, that we use when we work on a show. It is a small version ( about 5"x8") of the script pages that we will be shooting that particular day. It is NOT a whole script. This is from The Gilmore Girls. I worked as a stand-in and they give them to us so we know what we are doing. They give them to all the crew and the cast every day. This epsiode is called "Santa's Secret Stuff" and it hasn't aired yet. It has the 2 scenes we shot (Luke's Diner and Lane's Apartment) IT IS 10 PAGES LONG. We shot this scene at the Warner Brother Studios on "Midwestern Street". Most of the exterior shots of Gilmore Girls as shot here. It looks like a small town with a chuch and a bank and a town square. The dress all the outside of the buildings to look like the town in Connecticut that The Gilmore Girls live in. They put Christmas lights on all the trees, which is funny, since it was almost 90 degrees the day we shot this episode. Most all of the building are working, that is to say, they all have an inside that the set people can dree up to look like whatever it needs to look like. In this episode, Lane is very pregnant and is irritable, particularly at the customers. The top page has all the actors who will be working that day. I don't watch the show that much. but I thought it would be of great interest to a fan of the show. I usually put these things in my scrap book, but since I don't watch the show, I thought I would pass it along to someone who does. My name is on the top in pencil, but I am not famouse (yet) so it isn't worth anything. There are NO other autographs on this side.

  • "Thursday morning, and all of the Christmas decorations in the town square were gone." here - "I'm pretty sure it would have to be after Christmas. All the wreaths were gone, and they could be seen from Luke's." here, "linen closet at the DFI, fully stocked with TP, towels, pillows - Gigi-sized winter jacket in Lorelai's entryway hanging on the coat rack there. And pics of her in the LR" here- copperboom@FanForum

  • On eBay (address withheld so we can bid on the auction without too much competition) someone posted a callsheet and says there are sides - ep title Santa's Secret Stuff, 2 scenes Luke's Diner and Lane's Apartment, Christmas lights on all the trees, Lane is very pregnant and is irritable, particularly at the customers.

Speculation (Below is spec based on the spoilers and what I think might happen)
Added Dec 25, 2006 - It's several weeks later, after Christmas, Rory spent the break in London with Logan. Lorelai plans a "Christmas after Christmas" for her new family, at some point the girls run into Luke and April at the mall. This may prompt Luke to call Lorelai and ask her to come by the diner to talk, this may be her first visit since their breakup around 8 months ago. I'm also thinking Lorelai's first visit to the diner with coincide with the first snow, which is late. He asks Lorelai to write a character recommendation letter for his custody battle with Anna over April. Gigi is back from Paris also.

Since I did the above the episode description came out, how wrong was I?
